First of all, Precision Radiation Oncology would like to send our best wishes to all of you in celebration of the New Year.

We appreciate longstanding attention and contribution from people all over the world. In particular, we would like to send our sincere gratitude to Editorial Board Members (EBM) who have made great contribution in promoting the journal in international scholarly community. We are deeply grateful to our reviewers for their help with manuscript peer-reviewing. We also thank our publisher Wiley for their efforts in helping the journal publish manuscripts in a timely manner. It is all your support that give us great momentum to further develop and improve the journal.

The end of the year is a great time to take a look back about what we have done and what we have achieved. As it was included in Scopus, Embase and DOAJ, Precision Radiation Oncology is on track to publish a great number of guidelines and excellent articles written by experts from MD Anderson Cancer Center, MSK Cancer Center, Mayo Clinic, Shanghai Proton and Heavy Ion Center, Gansu Wuwei Tumour Hospital, New York Proton Center and other famous hospitals and institutes. In 2021, we succeed in publishing over 30 high-quality articles in the journal, including 5 guidelines and many original articles. Moreover, the journal is also working on the renewal of EBM and recruiting prestigious experts who are committed to the greater success of Precision Radiation Oncology. 

We are proud of what have achieved this year. At the same time, we also feel that this has also created a new challenge for us to see if we can maintain all the great results or push them to an even higher level. To achieve this goal, we need to work even harder. We will further shorten the average turn-around time for this journal, because a short submission-to-publication cycle is extremely important for all people who want to publish or read the state-of-the-art research works published in this journal. In addition, we will continuously secure high-quality source of contributions, and expect to launch 4 special issues in the year to come, covering topics like proton therapy, MRI-guided precision radiotherapy, radiotherapy of abdominal tumors, SBRT. We are convinced that influence of the journal will be further improved with our joint efforts.
